I’ve worked in corporate America for too long. I was perusing through job ads on linked in and found the following:

Would these ads convince you that there are no assholes that work there, or that they are trying too hard?

When I was married it was fun listening to him talk to his friends out state, mother, father, sister, etc. Later, I found out he wasn’t – he was literally spending hours making up both sides of the conversation. I figured it was just him….but later, I had a business partner that would yell and scream at other people to do what he said without any arguing. It finally dawned on me that he was just being an asshole to see if he could get a reaction out of me – or perhaps saying things he wished he could say to me.

Finally, I have a client that loves to hear himself talk, but I recently realized when he was having a real conversation I could hear the other person, or he has them on speakerphone.

I’m not really sure of the psychology behind it – have you dealt with people who have fake calls? Why, avoidance? Bragging? Pyschosis?
